My Brain Hurts!

Actually, it doesn't hurt - it feels like an electrified ball of barbed wire. How's that for an image?

I'm not in pain, but I've been dissecting my WIP so much, twisting bits here and there, that I'm completely lost. I have no idea what I'm doing with my story right now.

Quite frankly, I'm in a moderate state of panic.

Has anyone else been in this situation? Do you have any advice for me?

I've not been able to write a word, and I can't see my way clear.

Aaaarrrggghhhh....

Oh, dear! Your wip is that electrifying! Time to get it well grounded before you hurt yourself or the manuscript. Or both.

Start early in a day or two. Meditate on keeping yourself and your work grounded.

Best wishes for th work. And your sanity.

Blessings and Bear hugs!

Let it rest for a week and concentrate on something totally different. Then, when you are completely at ease, sit down and read it all the way through. You will come up with good ideas and be able to make the changes if necessary. It will be fine.

I agree with the earlier advice--let it sit for a bit. A lot will resolve itself when you read it through; the bits that don't may become clearer when you look at the surrounding scenes.

Just don't panic, or freeze (my favorite modus operandi). Neither helps!
