Check-In January 4th

I'm sick. I had a Starbuck's meeting with a friend who also writes. I'm supposed to be there in seven minutes. Guess what's not happening. I'm going back to bed with some hot tea and my laptop. Yeah, I know they don't sound like a good mix, but I've got a lovely insulated steel Starbuck's mug. It keeps things hot if you want and cold if you want - and doesn't spill. Mandatory for me in situations like this.

Ok, here goes. Got my page count on opening day. Yesterday? Bubkis. Today, I'm hoping to make it up.

On the bright side, because I'm feeling so crappy, I can probably write that scene where my werewolf is going through a good deal of angst before she becomes a serial killer.

See? There's a bright spot to everything.

Sorry to hear you're not doing too well, hopefully a day in bed will fix you :-)

Thanks very much! I just got back from the grocery store - my stash of Kleenex needed to be replenished.

And I went crazy in the fruit isle. It seems like I'm craving everything fresh.

Time to take the OJ, the laptop, and myself and huddle up in bed again.

I wonder what my werewolves are doing right now...?

Lara, I'm so sorry you're sick. That's no fun. Plus, the germs this year are just BIONIC.

Feel better soon...the ROW will be here ready to cheer you on.

Thanks, everyone! News flash - chocolate cake tastes better than soup when you're sick. Who knew? And why didn't anyone tell me before?

Since chocolate is a miracle drug, I could be back to normal by tomorrow morning. Which would be really nice, seeing as how I've got a staff meeting in the afternoon. Classes start on Monday, and I've got to get ready for students...(sneeze).

Ugh, I hate being sick, especially at the beginning of a thing like ROW 80!! It can throw your whole momentum off. But that's OK, remember to be gentle on yourself, let yourself get well. I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks, everyone! I'm not better yet - I even missed checking in on Wednesday. (hangs her head) But I'll do better on Sunday, I promise.

If I'm lucky, I'll even have some pages to report.

Happy writing, all!
